send MIDI from a USB keyboard (Korg NanoKey) directly to a hardware synthesizer

I read that somewhere that with a the old iConnectMIDI you can send MIDI from a USB keyboard (Korg NanoKey) directly to a hardware synthesizer without having to use a computer/iPad/iPhone in between.

My question now is, is it possible to do the same with iConnectMIDI2+?
I have an iConnectMIDI2+ somewhere, can't find it right now so I can't test it, so if I can connect a smal keyboard with only USB to get ordinary MIDI, it would be so cool, and it would make me look harder for it :)

  • Well you need a usb host in the chain, so unless the synth has one or the iconnectMIDI2+ (which it doesn't look like it has) it won't work.
  • You'll need an interface with the USB-A MIDI host port.
