Firmware midi file

I'm just curious: because I downloaded the last two firmware updates 'manually' I noticed that these firmware-files were midi-files and I had to 'play' them to my iCA4+ in bootloader mode. My question is: what would have happened if I had 'played' a midi-file with music-data (ie. a 'normal' midi-file) to the iCA4+ in bootloader mode? I didn't try that of course, but do you know if the iCA4+ would have crashed or would there be no harm done and would the update process have stopped? Again: I'm just curious...

  • There's typically a string of SysEx that tells that hardware that its a firmware file and to load it, so it would probbably just toggle in Bootloader mode. But no need to cause yourself a headache ha.

    Cheers!
